At ASPEC, we manufacture a variety of injection molded thermoplastic rubber components for the security, electrical, and electronic industries. Injection molding offers an efficient alternative to heated compression molding which is a significantly more laborious process. Injection molding in performed on a 40 ton Arburg injection molding machine with a shot capacity of 2.5 oz. Additionally, parts are fully cured in the mold, injection molded thermoplastic rubber components can be designed with undercuts, providing greater design freedom and reducing the need for complex molds.

Molded components similar to the Santoprene parts shown here can be manufactured in a number of custom rubber colors and in a range of Shore A hardnesses from 35A to 87A. We produce the seals, gaskets, bellows, and valves shown here, in a number of variations, with a total production volume of approximately 300,000 to 400,000 parts per year. These parts are produced for a customer in Lexington, Kentucky, with tolerances as tight as ±0.005″ to ensure a precise compression fit. The molded parts are polished and machined using EDM equipment to achieve a fine surface.
